Universal Studios and the 1918 Flu Pandemic

In March, I made a video to discuss what Universal Studios was doing about the coronavirus: what was happening in the parks and on the backlot, what was happening to the movies in theaters, and what benefits were available to employees. A lot of you responded by asking if Universal was affected by the 1918 flu pandemic and how they reacted. In some ways, Universal's response was similar to the other studios, but there's one way Universal was affected more than anyone else…and that's what this video is about.
